Mount Lavinia Court incident : Inquiry over lawyer

The Mount Lavinia Police have launched an inquiry into the conduct of a lawyer involved in Friday’s (10) incident at the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court premises, where a police officer allegedly assaulted the attorney. Police said the investigation will look into claims that the lawyer, accompanied by another senior attorney, had verbally abused and obstructed the officer while he was carrying out his official duties. Sri Lanka August tourism revenue rise only 1-pct amid steep rise in arrivals

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s foreign exchange revenue from tourism in August 2025 edged up 1 percent from a year ago to 182.9 million US dollars, the central bank said, quoting tourism promotion authority data. Egg prices reduced by Rs. 10: producers association

The All Ceylon Small and Medium Scale Egg Producers Association has announced a reduction of Rs. 10 in egg prices in the local market.
