Govt targets Full Telecommunication Recovery by Thursday

Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratne stated that the telephone and internet communication networks disrupted due to the recent disaster are expected to be fully restored by Thursday. Deaths Climb to 465; Over 31,000 Homes Damaged in Islandwide Disaster

Sri Lanka’s disaster death toll rose to 465 as of 6 p.m. on Tuesday, while 366 people remain missing, according to the Disaster Management Center. The latest situation report shows that 1,558,919 people across 437,507 families have been affected by Cyclone Ditwa and the floods and landslides that followed. India rejects Pakistan’s claim of delayed clearance for Sri Lanka aid flight

India on Tuesday rejected Pakistan’s accusation that New Delhi delayed overflight clearance for a Pakistani aircraft carrying humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka, calling the allegation “ridiculous” and “misinformation.” In an official response, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the request for clearance was received by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad at around 1:00 p.m. on December 1.
