Sri Lanka focuses on inter-agency cooperation to prevent illegal fishing, drug trafficking

Sri Lanka sells Rs80bn in 2030, 2035 bonds

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has sold 80 billion rupees in 2030 and 2035 bonds, data from the state debt office showed. 35 billion rupees of 01 July 2030 (LKB00530G018) bonds were sold at an average yield of 9.56 percent. 45 billion rupees of 15 June 2035 (LKB01035F159) bonds were sold at an average yield of 10.69 percent. Sri Lanka stocks close down as selling pressure weighs in

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Colombo Stock Exchange closed down on Thursday, as profit taking took place, brokers said. Both indices fell steadily since open, data on its site showed. Lightning advisory : Red alert issued to 09 districts

The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts today. Per the advisory, effective until 11.00 pm today, red alerts have been issued to 09 districts and amber alerts to 14 districts.  The department warns that there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.  The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by lightning activity.
