The body of a Sri Lankan man fatally stabbed in Israel has been identified as K.K. Tharindu Shanaka, 38, a father of two from Batapola, Kondagala in Galle. He had arrived in Israel in September 2025 to work in the construction sector as a carpenter. The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and Uva provinces. The Police have arrested six suspects, including the alleged shooter, two male accomplices, and two female suspects, as of Wednesday (12), following investigations into the shooting incident that occurred in Kotahena on November 07. Minister of Health Nalinda Jayatissa says plans and actions are already underway to expand the 1990 Suwa Seriya ambulance fleet to 500 vehicles, incorporating the latest global technologies to modernize the service.
