China donates 85 tonnes of flood relief supplies to Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has received 85 tonnes of flood relief supplies from China to support ongoing recovery efforts following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah. Financial, capital good shares push Sri Lanka stocks up

ECONOMYNEXT – Foreign investors bought around 9.6 million US dollars worth Sri Lanka government securities in the week ending December 3, recording a second weekly buying, Central Bank data showed. 12,000kg of meat found unfit for consumption

Around 12,000 kilograms of meat stored at a livestock farm in the Anuradhapura District was sealed today after being found unfit for human consumption, the Public Health Inspectors Union said. The meat stock had reportedly deteriorated due to floodwaters entering the facility and a power outage that disrupted refrigeration. The discovery followed a complaint made to the Disaster Management Hotline (1926) operated under the Health and Media Ministry.
