A group of representatives from the New People’s Front (NPF) has lodged a complaint with the Judicial Service Commission, alleging that Parliamentarian and attorney-at-law Lakmali Hemachandra made remarks amounting to contempt of court. Sri Lanka, Belize establish diplomatic relations

The Governments of Sri Lanka and Belize have formally established diplomatic relations, effective from October 21, 2025. The agreement was signed in New York by Sri Lanka’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Jayantha Jayasuriya, and Belize’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, Janine Coye-Felson.
