The Governments of Sri Lanka and Belize have formally established diplomatic relations, effective from October 21, 2025. The agreement was signed in New York by Sri Lanka’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Jayantha Jayasuriya, and Belize’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, Janine Coye-Felson. According to a joint announcement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belize, the new diplomatic ties are expected to enhance friendly relations and cooperation in political, socio-economic, and cultural spheres for the mutual benefit of both nations.…
