A protest march was held in Mannar today against the government’s decision to continue with the proposed wind power project in Mannar Island. Carrying slogans and shouting chants, the protesters called on the authorities to refrain from destroying the Mannar Island under the pretext of development. The protest march culminated with a large-scale protest being held in Mannar Town.
