There is currently no threat to the water supply in Colombo and surrounding areas, Minister of Water Supply stated today, urging the public to use water sparingly amid rising river levels. However, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWS&DB) has cautioned that a further rise of around seven feet in the Kelani River could severely affect operations at the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant.
