Tiny nation with fewer people than Colombo qualifies for FIFA World Cup

A country of just over 500,000 people, Cabo Verde have become the second-least populous nation to reach the World Cup, after Iceland at Russia 2018. After a tense first half against Eswatini, Cabo Verde turned on the style after the break, with goals from Dailon Livramento, Willy Semedo and Stopira sparking scenes of joyous celebration at Estadio Nacional de Cabo Verde.
