Police in Rambukkana have arrested a man in connection with the theft of cables from a local telephone transmission tower, seizing more than 13 kilograms of copper wire believed to be from the site. The suspect, identified as a 31-year-old resident of the Rambukkana area, was taken into custody on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The arrest followed an investigation into the theft at a tower located in the Talhenkanda area of Yatagama, within the Rambukkana Police Division.
