ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s official remittances rose 43.2 percent to a record monthly high of US$879.1 million in December 2025, while the total in the last year also reached an all time peak of US$ 8,076.2 million from a year ago, central bank data showed. Last month’s remittances surpassed the island nation’s previous monthly peak remittances of US$812.7 million hit in December 2020.
