ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s stock market hit a new record in the first half hour of trading on Friday when the All Share Price Index went beyond the 22,000 mark. The ASPI was up 0.26 percent, or 57.75 points, at 22,009.54; while the S&P SL20 was up 0.26 percent, or 16.01 points, at 6,164.22. Market turnover was 1.67 billion rupees. Most of this came from a crossing on Lanka Credit and Business Finance, which contributed 1.1 billion rupees. The stock was trading up 80 cents at 7.40 rupees.
