Sri Lanka rupee weaker, bond yields slightly higher

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee opened at 308.20/50 to the US dollar in the spot market Monday, depreciating sharply from 308.00/20 on Friday, dealers said, while bond yields were slightly higher. The rupee was quoted at 307.80/95 a week ago. A bond maturing on 15.03.2028 was quoted at 9.15/25 percent, up from 9.12/18 percent. A bond maturing on 15.12.2029 was quoted at 9.55/70 percent, up from 9.50/55 percent. A bond maturing on 01.07.2030 was quoted at 9.60/70 percent, up from 9.55/65 percent.
