Sri Lanka rupee depreciates over week, some recovery on Friday

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee closed at 307.80/95 to the US dollar in the spot market Friday, stronger from 308.10/30 the previous day, dealers said, but having depreciated from 306.90/307.20 last Friday, while bond yields were broadly steady. A bond maturing on 15.12.2026 closed flat at 8.15/25 percent. A bond maturing on 15.03.2028 closed flat at 9.00/05 percent. A bond maturing on 15.12.2029 closed at 9.48/52 percent, up from 9.47/50 percent. A bond maturing on 15.12.2032 closed at 10.22/28 percent, down from 10.23/30 percent.
