ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed President’s Councel Maithri Evan Wickremesinghe as the new member of the Central Bank’s Governing Board after Rajeev Amarasuriya, the current President of the country’s Bar Association relinquished from his duties as a member from June this year. Wickremesinghe’s appointment has been effective from October 2, the Central Bank said in a statement. Wickremesinghe is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and holds an Honours Degree in Law from the University of Colombo.
