Sri Lanka inflation 2.1-pct in 2025, food prices spike in Dec

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s inflation was 2.1 percent in the 12 months to December 2025, with prices rising 1.2 percent in the month, data from the state statistics office showed. The widely-watched Colombo Consumer Price Index rose 1.2 percent in December to 195.8 points from 193.4 points in November. Sri Lanka’s consumer prices have risen 3.4-pct over 39-months from September 2022, when the central bank’s deflationary policy stated to show up in the balance of payments.
