Sri Lanka’s law enforcement authorities have uncovered major developments linked to the narcotics haul seized by the Navy in the southern seas, with a local government candidate among those arrested. Police Narcotics Bureau officials confirmed that a Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) local government candidate from Pannala was taken into custody in connection with the drug operation. Investigations are underway to determine his role and possible wider links.
