ECONOMYNEXT – Sunimal Bandara Weerasooriya has been appointed as an independent, non-executive director to the board of Sri Lanka’s state-owned Bank of Ceylon, with effect from October 7, 2025. “This appointment has been made pursuant to instructions dated 31.07.2025 from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development with the recommendation of a five member special selection committee.” the bank said in a stock exchange disclosure.
