The Overall Rate of Inflation, measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, has increased to 2.1% in October 2025. According to the Department of Census and Statistics, the figure is an increase compared to the 1.5% recorded in September this year. Food inflation has also increased to 3.5% in October 2025, compared to the 2.9% reported in September. Non-food inflation has also increased to 1.4% in October from the 0.7% reported in September 2025.
