A retired officer of the Government Analyst’s Department was arrested on Dec. 5 by officials from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption over allegations of accepting a bribe totalling Rs. 6,415,050. The arrest relates to an ongoing investigation into the alleged acceptance of bribes from a private insurance company in exchange for issuing official vehicle inspection reports.
