Rain expected in a few areas today

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces after 2.00 pm today.  According to the Department of Meteorology, mainly fair weather will prevail in the other areas of Sri Lanka.  Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the midnight and early hours of the morning.  Meanwhile, mainly fair weather will prevail in the sea areas around the island.  Winds will be South-westerly or variable in direction, and speed will be 20-30 kmph.
