Prabath Chandrakeerthi has been appointed as the Commissioner General of Essential Services, the President’s Media Division announced. The appointment has been made under the powers vested in President Anura Kumara Dissanayake through the Emergency (Various Provisions and Powers) Regulations No. 11(1) issued under Emergency Regulations No. 1 of 2025. As Commissioner General, Chandrakeerthi will be responsible for implementing and coordinating all activities related to the provision and maintenance of essential services across the country.
