Police say Mawanella knife attack due to a land dispute

Police investigations reveal that a knife attack reported in Mawanella yesterday, killing three persons, had occurred due to a dispute over a plot of land.  According to the Police, an individual had attacked four of his relatives with a knife in the Danagama Watte area in Kondeniya, Mawanella, last evening. Three individuals had died in the attack, while an injured woman has been admitted to the Mawanella Base Hospital.  The 33-year-old suspect has been arrested, while the Mawanella Police is conducting further investigations.
