Sri Lanka Customs has recorded its highest-ever single-day tax revenue, collecting Rs. 2,470 million on October 15, 2025, the Department announced today. According to Director General of Customs, the total revenue collected so far this year amounts to Rs. 1,867 billion, placing the department on track to surpass its annual target of Rs. 2,115 billion. Uruguay legalized euthanasia on Wednesday, becoming the first country in Latin America to pass a law that allows terminally ill people to opt for assisted death.
