According to the Water Board, the water supply will be disrupted from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm tomorrow due to a power interruption affecting the Ambatale Water Purification Plant. As such, the water cut will be imposed in Colombo 1-15, Battaramulla, Mirihana, Madiwala, Nugegoda, Nawala, Kolonnawa, IDH, Kotikawatta, Angoda, Wellampitiya, Orugodawatta, Maharagama, and Boralesgamuwa. Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) member and Chairman of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha, Lasantha Wickramasekara, who was injured in a shooting incident in Weligama today, has succumbed to injuries. According to the Police, two unidentified individuals who arrived on a motorcycle had opened fire at Wickramasekara while he was inside the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chamber. Deputy Minister of Industries Chathuranga Abeysinghe says the government has established a new Credit Guarantee Institution to assist small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) struggling with loan repayments since Sri Lanka’s economic crisis.
