Unidentified gunmen attack Pakistan Cricketer Naseem Shah’s property

Police said on Monday that unidentified assailants opened fire at national cricketer Naseem Shah’s ‘hujra’ (a property adjacent or near the house), leaving the main gate, windows, and a parked vehicle partially damaged in the attack. The firing incident took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lower Dir district. Police said that five suspects were arrested and a case was registered. Fortunately, Naseem’s family remained safe in the incident as the pacer is currently in Rawalpindi. Sri Lanka banks to get Rs45.7bn in senior citizen interest arrears in 2026

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka will settle to banks 45.7 billion rupees in interest arrears, on senior citizen interest subsidies paid in 2022 and 2023, a budget for 2025 said. In 2025, 10 billion rupees had been paid. “Although an additional interest of about 15 percent was given to the savings of senior citizens, the outstanding amount that should have been paid to the banks in 2022 and 2023 but has not been paid so far is being settled,” the budget document said.
