Extreme weather : All train services suspended

The Railway Department has suspended all train services on every route from 6 a.m. today (Nov. 28), due to the ongoing extreme weather conditions across the country. Additional General Manager (Operations) Chandrasena Bandara said the decision was made as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety, with continuous heavy rain increasing the risk of landslides, flooding, and fallen trees along multiple railway lines. Sri Lanka warned of gale force winds, storm surges from Cyclone Ditwah
