Some opposition MPs were seen wearing black armbands and attire inside the Parliament chamber in protest of the assassination of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman, Lasantha Wickramasekara. Addressing the Parliament today, SJB Colombo District MP Mujibur Rahuman stated that they entered Parliament dressed in black and wearing black armbands to express their opposition to the prevailing culture of assassinations in the country.
