A Belarusian national has been taken into custody by the Galle District Crime Division for cultivating Kush cannabis in a rented property in the Akmeemana area. Police stated that the suspect had been discreetly growing the plants in two rooms of the house. Investigations revealed that he intended to sell the cannabis to foreigners visiting the country. The house belongs to a doctor associated with Karapitiya Hospital and had been rented out by the suspect for a monthly rent of Rs. 150,000.
