Insurance companies have agreed to expedite payments for claims linked to insured perils caused by cyclone Ditwah, following a special meeting held on 3 December 2025 with senior government and regulatory officials. The discussion brought together Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, Secretary to the Treasury, Manjula Hettiarachchi, Director General of the Department of Development Finance, Dr. Ajith Raveendra De Mel, Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL), and Damayanthi Fernando, Director General of IRCSL.
