The Disaster Management Center reports that the number of fatalities in the landslide at the Lower Kadugannawa area in Ganethenna has risen to two. The deceased include a person who was trapped among the debris. Four others injured in the incident are currently receiving treatment at Mawanella Hospital, hospital sources said. The landslide occurred around 9:00 a.m. today (22) when soil and rocks fell onto a shop in the area. As a result, the Ganethenna junction–Kadugannawa road has been temporarily closed.
