The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (Oct. 29) ordered that the corruption case filed against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe to be called again on January 28, 2026. The case, which marks the first time a Sri Lankan Executive President has been arrested and remanded over corruption allegations, was taken up before the Magistrate this afternoon. Wickremesinghe appeared in court as per summons issued in connection with the case filed by the Bribery Commission.
