Court incident : More action from Police

Mount Lavinia Police Headquarters Inspector H.T.M. Thushara has been immediately transferred to general duties in the Medical Services Division, Police said. The transfer follows an incident on Friday at the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court involving a lawyer and a Police officer. Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala said an inquiry is underway to identify those responsible and that action will be taken based on its findings. Mount Lavinia Police had also launched an investigation into the conduct of the lawyer involved in the altercation.
