Sri Lanka’s Irrigation Department said spill gates of the Kaudulla Reservoir will be opened at around 5.00 p.m. today to manage inflows, with 500 cubic feet of water per second to be released into the Kawdulu Oya. The department said downstream conditions remain normal and no flooding is expected as a result of the controlled release.
