The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has initiated an investigation into former Members of Parliament Nandana Gunathilake and Udaya Gammanpila following a complaint that the duo committed contempt against the commission. According to State television ITN, the inquiry was launched based on a complaint submitted by the civil society organisation “Citizen Power Against Bribery, Corruption, and Waste.” CIABOC said the probe centres on remarks or actions attributed to the two former MPs that may amount to contempt of the commission.
