A bus driver who had travelled from Colombo to Ampara was arrested by officers attached to the Anti-Corruption Unit of the Ampara Police Station on Saturday (18) morning for allegedly transporting heroin. Police said the suspect was taken into custody at the Ampara bus stand following a tip-off. During the search, officers found a parcel containing 9 grams and 615 milligrams of heroin in his possession. A police sniffer dog was also deployed to inspect the bus.
