Showery weather is expected to further intensify over the Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces over the next few days, according to the Department of Meteorology. As such, showers may occur at times in the Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces. Showers or thundershowers will occur in the other areas of the island after 1.00 pm. Fairly heavy falls above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
