ECONOMYNEXT – A contract to build a concrete underpass bridge at Mahaiyawa in Kandy on the A 09 road has been awarded to NEM Construction (Pvt) Ltd, Cabinet spokesman Nalinda Jayatissa said. The contract was awarded after calling competitive tenders. A standing procurement committee has selected NEM Construction from three bidders, Minister Jayatissa said. The cabinet has approved awarding the contract for 699.58 million rupees without tax. (Colombo/Jan06/2025)
