“Economy will not collapse, no gas shortage either” – Minister Herath

Sri Lanka’s economy will not collapse and there will be no shortage of cooking gas, Cabinet Minister Vijitha Herath told Parliament on Wednesday, dismissing claims circulating in recent weeks as fear-mongering. Speaking in Parliament, Herath said the government has made arrangements to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies through a new supplier, with the first shipment scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on Jan. 5. “The economy is not collapsing.
