Colombo Port Police have arrested a clerk suspected of stealing cosmetic products worth Rs. 574,425 from a consignment imported from India. According to Police investigations, a private company had imported two pallets of cosmetics from India on Nov. 7, 2025, the Lankadeepa newspaper reported. The shipment was stored at the Bandaranaike warehouse of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority after paying port and customs duties, pending release.
