The Ministry of Education has announced that all universities, higher education institutes, and vocational training centres operating under its authority will suspend academic activities until 8 December 2025. In a special statement issued today, the Ministry said the decision applies to every state university, higher education institution, and vocational training institute islandwide. The temporary suspension covers all lectures, examinations, and training programmes. The announcement was issued by Nalaka Kaluwawa, Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education.
