President oversees ongoing rescue of Kala Oya Bus Passengers

20 passengers in the bus that was caught in a flash flood in Rajanganaya have been safely rescued, while operations to rescue the remaining passengers are still underway, the Navy Spokesperson said. A group of passengers from the bus that was swept by strong currents over the Kala Oya bridge on the Anuradhapura–Puttalam road are currently sheltering on the roof of a nearby house after last night’s rescue attempt failed due to severe weather conditions.
