Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Vijitha Herath has requested the Hotels Association of Sri Lanka to build hotels in destinations outside of Colombo. Addressing an event, Minister Herath pointed out that Colombo has sufficient hotels, but outside areas, such as Jaffna, have limited options. As such, the Tourism Minister urged hotel owners to invest and build hotels in other areas outside of Colombo to develop the tourism industry.
