The death toll from the rockslide that struck Pahala Kadugannawa on the Colombo–Kandy main road has risen to six, as authorities continue restoration and safety operations in the disaster-hit area, the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) said. While search and rescue operations have now been completed, the NBRO said efforts to stabilise the slope and return the affected zone to normalcy are still underway with the assistance of Sri Lanka Army personnel from Beragala.
