The Chairman of the Arachchikattuwa Pradeshiya Sabha, S.J.M. Jayaratne, has come under fire for berating a Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) female councillor, following the defeat of the local council’s budget yesterday. SJB councillor Nikini Ayodhya had filed a complaint with the Police following the incident. Speaking to the media, the Arachchikattuwa Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman, an NPP councillor, said he was under immense pressure at the time of the incident. “I spoke a bit harshly.
