The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the Appropriation Bill for the 2026 financial year. The second reading of the Budget 2026 is scheduled to be presented to Parliament this afternoon by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his capacity as Minister of Finance. The budget speech is set to be delivered in Parliament at 1:30 pm today. This marks the second budget presented under the National People’s Power (NPP) government.
