An Indian Ocean tsunami preparedness exercise is scheduled to be conducted tomorrow across five selected locations in Sri Lanka, in line with World Tsunami Awareness Day. The Disaster Management Centre has requested the public not to panic or misinterpret the drill as an actual tsunami threat. This exercise, conducted under official UNESCO guidelines, will involve five Grama Niladhari divisions selected from the districts of Batticaloa, Jaffna, Galle, and Kalutara.
