A 39-year-old man from Peellawatta, Minuwangoda, was arrested today (1 November) by the Western Province North Crime Division after being found in possession of a foreign-made pistol, one cartridge, and 13 live rounds, police said. The arrest followed a tip-off that prompted police to conduct a raid in the area. The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Minuwangoda Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (2 November), where authorities will seek a 48-hour detention order.
