The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today that a female lawyer and five actresses are under investigation over their links to underworld figure Kehelbaddara Padme. CID officers said attorney Thamara Kumari Abeyrathne, arrested for allegedly assisting the gunman in the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder, was being detained and questioned. Investigations have revealed that she had provided the shooter with two neckties, a lawyer’s vehicle emblem sticker, copies of the Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code, and photographs used to prepare a forged lawyer identification card.
